Talked to many people – it has been a shock – tough news to digest but a future to look forward to.
I do not want to be accused of bragging but I want to make some commentary on social media including ODN – as the news source – that basically has replaced radio for spot news. Our local newspapers all did a tremendous job due to deadlines and resources.
This one man blog usually has about 1000 to 1500 computers tune in each day depending on the time of the week or the action ‘out there’.
When I looked at the stats late Monday I was shocked to see what had happened. I also noticed the amazing comment content and who was tuning in. People all over Canada with a great connection to OLIVER wanted to know more, grieve and revisit old memories. We will continue to look at the SOSS fire story from many angles attemping to build a regular following.
The 9000 families that signed on Monday says less about ODN and more about the need for current, up to date and relevant information in our high tech world. The amount of comments and posts continues to rise. Thank your for taking part. And yes those numbers will come down and balance out overtime.
We hope you like Oliver’s little chat box and will tell more friends and relatives to put an “ODN” button on your desktop.
