Question posed: What are your feelings on hearing the news about Oliver’s school fire?

“I’m extremely upset, I was just in Oliver and I couldn’t go see it – just too depressing. I and the Heritage Society Board, working with the School District did a lot of work to make sure SOSS maintained its heritage stature. The loss of our Venables Auditorium for its contribution to our region’s culture, entertainment and attractiveness is also deeply troubling. It also follows the loss of another great heritage site – the Oliver Hotel in 2010.”
