On September 10th, 2011, at 2:08PM, Oliver/Osoyoos RCMP were alerted to an ATV roll-over on the east side of Mount Kobau approximately 1 kilometre from Testalinda Lake. The ATV operator reportedly lost control and rolled the vehicle down a small embankment. The seventy-four year old, male, Kelowna resident was located alert and in fair condition. He was airlifted to Kelowna General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries where he was treated by medical staff and subsequently released later that same evening.
On September 9th, 2011 at 4:52PM, Oliver/Osoyoos RCMP received a report of a residential break and enter that occurred on Fuji Court, Osoyoos between 1:30PM and 2:30PM on September 5th, 2011. The homeowner returned that date to find items strewn about the residence and, upon further inspection, it was noted that some electronics and a small quantity of cash were missing. It is unknown how the suspect(s) may have entered the residence. A witness noted a grey car with a male driver pull into the residence driveway and remain there for approximately 10 minutes around the time of the incident. Unfortunately, neither a
licence plate nor further description were obtained. The matter is still under investigation.
On September 10, 2011, at 9:30AM, Oliver/Osoyoos RCMP attended a motorcycle collision, Highway 3 on the Anarchist Mountain. A 62 year-old,Spruce Grove, Alberta resident was
approaching a sharp corner on his Red, 2009 Yamaha motorcycle and went to gear down, but a tire locked up causing the bike to go down. Bike and rider skidded across two lanes, narrowly missing an oncoming SUV, and came to rest in the west bound lane. EHS
transported the male to SOGH where he was later released with a bruised collar-bone. The bike sustained significant cosmetic damage but was repairable. No charges were pursued.
On September 10th, 2011, at 11:51AM, Oliver/Osoyoos RCMP received a 911 call from a distressed female advising that her ex-boyfriend was suicidal and in possession of a knife. The Forty-one year old Osoyoos male, was reportedly in possession of a small pocket knife and was on horseback in the area of 45th Street, in Osoyoos. With the assistance of the Penticton Police
Dog Service, and RCMP Air Services, the male was located near his horse, in a wooded area nearby. After being approached
by police, the male again rode off on horseback being located a short time later by some co-workers who convinced him to return and speak with police. The male, now co-operative, was
detained under the Mental Health Act and transported to the
South Okanagan General Hospital for evaluation. He did
not possess any weapons at the time of his detention and no charges are being sought.
