Most of us don’t go to the Masonic Hall very often including me. I think it might have been my second visit in a lifetime. Two pictures hanging at the entrance had some significance to me and took me back in time. Above is Griffin Hall (presently the Remax Realty and East Indian grocery store. My family lived for thirty years in Griffin House (Oliver home on Heritage Registry).
Below a picture of the hierarchy of the Southern Gate Lodge on November 6, 1935 at the time the fraternal organization was starting up in Oliver. A lot of familiar names listed. About 40 people attended the open house Saturday celebrating 75 years of life in the Masons.
