Cal Craik is pictured above at his shop (Okanagan Barrel Works) on Thorp Road. Cal was open about talking with this reporter about what belonging to Mason’s is all about : a fraternal organization designed to better the men that join.

The Masons have quite a long past and you could read several books on the organization.

Craik who heads the local group in Oliver says he invites you to an open house this Saturday to take the mystery out of the group. Two things he mentioned is that funds from the Southern Gate Lodge go toward the Cancer Car (a drive service for cancer patients) and school bursaries given each year when applied for.
