Have you received something in the mail? The RDOS reports that all rural residents in Area C have now been sent a card that clear states what your current physical address is and what it will change to. Director Allan Patton says he is received about 25 calls or emails per day on the topic as a number of anomalies have surfaced that need to be fixed:
1. House on corner with address on different street than listed
2. Roads that are not contiguous that need to be changed
Patton says these are all legitimate complaints that will be dealt with by RDOS staff. About 40 percent of the calls however are just complaints from people who don’t like the news system and say they were not warned. He says this conversation has been going on for well over a year – in the news, public meetings in Town and Area C.
The Town of Oliver has not sent out such cards.
