These pictures do not show a school ready to be occupied and rumours have circulated that education board officials would like to clarify. All current high school students at SOSS will be housed in facilities operated by the District starting Tuesday September 6th.
In a wide ranging interview with ODN new superintendent Beverly Young says that School District 53 wants teachers, parents and students to know that all is well for school opening. She says the contractor is working extra hours and extra days to make the classroom space available in both the older part of the school and new sections. Administrative staff will be coming back soon and will review just what space is available and what access points will be used.
The contractors have assured the district that construction can continue in a safe manner and that barricades will be erected to channel students into/out of the school. Both pictured taken Monday,
