Three matters before the RDOS area planning commission this month.
1. Owen Chung who built a home on an agriculture zoned lot on 7th Drive wished a variance to allow for a garage at the rear of his property. Permission was granted.
2. Todd Browne of Oliver Car and Truck appealed a decision by the APC not to endorse his application for a withdrawal from the Agricultural Land Reserve. The APC was informed by staff that the request had already been forwarded by RDOS staff. The area planning commission’s concern about the possible subdivision of the Highway 97 property will be given to the Land Commission.
3. The two developers in the Gallagher Lake area seeking permission to proceed with a whiskey distillery (pictured above) were given the green light to proceed with their plans. The APC approved a zoning change from CT (campsite) to C2(ss). The Site Specific zoning will allow an industrial component (a copper still) and a retail component for sales of the product along with a residence above.
