Johnny Gibot is Cree, Chipewyan, French plus a couple more nations which flow his ‘Global Citizen’ veins, and was born and raised in Fort Chipewyan, a settlement in northern Alberta in 1951. He’s lived mainly in B.C. Because of the artist and musical people he says he feels more comfortable relating with because they’re not yet caught up with the ‘human race’. Since 1980 Johnny has lived in Mission, B.C. Where he say he’s grown considerably spiritually and mentally, physically he says he’s gotten older, but feels like an old teenager, says, “I feel child like, but not childish!”. His background has many phases, one he was almost raised in the residential boarding school and taught the guidelines of the Bible. Later he searched out a few elders on his pow-wow circuit, including healing circles on his own volition because he knew he had to program his mind and spirit with a more stable ‘Faith’ system which in turn will affect his ‘living’ station of enlightenment thus inspiring others needing role models. He says he knows he’ll never be perfect but he has fun and energy to strive for higher excellence. Johnny has started stained glass art in 1978, and has refined his ‘tailored lines’ to express his vision he sees from another dimension coming from the world of ‘endless’ inspirations.
Other talents of Johnny are; he performs, writes his own songs titled: “Raw Bush Mind Bender Music”. And finally, he also builds his ‘nine sided’ hand made drums. He says he likes to “drum up some business!”.
