After receiving a report of a sexual assault made by a victim who managed to flee from her assailant Sunday in OK Falls, RCMP located and arrested known high risk sex offender Ronald Teneycke.

(Officers released a public safety notification in 2007 warning the community of Oliver that Teneycke, a high risk sex offender, had moved into the area after  serving 12 years in prison in connection with a sexual assault.)

RCMP received a call from a frantic woman from an OK Falls payphone at around 12:54 am early Monday morning, stating that she had just managed to escape from her attacker in a home in OK Falls.  Investigators met the woman and took her into their care.  The resulting information received from her led the RCMP to surround a home in OK Falls where they believed Teneycke may still be.

Uniformed officers attended the home on 10th Avenue in OK Falls and took known sex offender 48 yr Ronald Arthur Teneycke into custody without incident. Investigators believe that Teneycke picked the 42 year old woman up at around 7pm along Hwy 97 at the South end of Penticton along Skaha Lake near the Airport.  The woman accepted the ride with Teneycke who was driving a white 1990 Cadillac who then drove to Keremeos then continued back to the OK Falls area.  The woman stated to investigators that Teneycke then drove to a remote cabin located near OK Falls at which point she became concerned for her well being.

Teneycke is alleged to have forced the woman into the cabin where she was sexually assaulted and threatened repeatedly with bodily harm. “The woman was then brought to Teneycke’s residence in OK Falls, where she managed to maintain her composure and took an opportunity to flee and alerted police” stated Cpl Dan Moskaluk. Ident examiners have since attended both locations to complete their scene examination.  Ronald Arthur Teneycke remains in custody and is to appear at the Penticton court house tomorrow.
