“Because of the nature of this brutal attack – we have grave concerns for public safety” – Cpl. Dan Moskuluk.
Penticton RCMP are searching for a 35-year-old man wanted for attempted murder.
The warrant for David Wesley Bobbitt, 35, stems from the forcible confinement and sexual assault of a 22 year Penticton woman Saturday night. Early Sunday morning, family members told police they located the woman’s vehicle on Ellis Street. Police were patrolling the area when they discovered the rear door of a business ajar.
Officers found the mother inside the store, bound and suffering from serious injuries. The woman’s 2 year old was also located nearby unharmed. The women was operated on today and is expected to recover from hammer blows to her head.
Corporal Moskaluk says the victim was unknown to Bobbitt. Moskaluk also says Bobbitt is considered a threat to public safety. He is described as a white male, 5’7” and weighing about 180 pounds. He has brown eyes and has balding brown hair. Bobbitt has a medium build and is clean shaven.
