Ambulance, search & rescue and fire department all called Sunday to rescue a person on a floating device in Okanagan River north of McAlpine Bridge. One girl was assisted out of the river west and behind the Gallagher Lake business district. Firemen scoured the area to find the person in trouble. One young lady was assisted.

Fire and rescue crews are tiring of the activity. High water and swift currents are making the river dangerous. Would be a good year to pass on the idea. This is the 2nd call this week with the record showing quite a few calls to the river this year.
