A letter to the Oliver Parks and Recreation Society from School District #53 has Mayor Pat Hampson busy organizing yet another meeting.
The letter points out that the School District anticipates a water bill in 2011 of $35,000 for all school fields in Oliver and was seeking support from the Parks Department. Most water that is used on the community park is not metered and actually comes from the river via the Town’s underground flume.
Mayor Pat Hampson (chair of the Parks Society) said he would volunteer to bring officials together to discuss joint use of fields, revenue sources and any possibility of reducing the charges on the School District.
