Rain did not dampen the great new International Sunshine Festival and Parade in Oliver. Hundreds lined Highway 97 in the business district to see the many floats go by with the kids getting gifts, candies and balloons along the way. The crowd then moved to the park area across the bridge. I think most people were impressed with the new format at the park of setting up eating areas near the concessions and having a beer garden, stage area and commercial stalls similar to Festival of the Grape. A good first try. The weather and crowd could have been better with dark skies and a terrible wind at one point scaring off a lot of participants.
