Hi there

As most of you know through the store we distribute quilts to those in our community (OK Falls to Osoyoos) who are in need of comforting.

Through all of your generosity last year we were able to give away more than 15 quilts and after our mud slide we gave away 31 quilts to the families directly affected.

The Friends of Wine Country Quilters Market have given away, just this year, more than 10 quilts to different individuals needing comfort, the last of which went to Brittany Michaud, a 12 year old girl from Oliver who is in Vancouver Children’s hospital in need of a new heart after it was discovered that she contracted a virus either as an infant or young child.  She will not be able to leave the hospital unless she receives a new heart.  (A donation jar is also available in the store to help the family with expenses as one parent has to be in Vancouver with her at all times, and they have another 2 kids)

So here I am asking you again for your help as our stash of quilts is pretty much down to just a few….  I would like to ask you for fabrics you may have in your stash which you don’t want or can part with.

Here is the plan:

We have specific quilt patterns in mind that uses 2.5″ strips by WOF, so here is your incentive for parting with some of your stash you have had for years and years and years and years:

Donate 5 – 2.5″ strips and receive 10% off purchase

Donate 10 – 2.5″ strips and receive 20% off purchase

Donate 15 – 2.5″ strips and receive 30% off purchase

Or just donate, you will be amazed at how good it will make you feel.

These donated fabrics will help us make tops for someone in our community.  Who knows, maybe your friend, neighbour or family member.

For most of the comfort quilts that are made through this store we have been lucky that some of my suppliers have been donating batting and backing, and with me having the longarm we have been able to give away some beautiful quilts.
