Sunday – July 17th –  the Town of Oliver will sponsor a luncheon to award –  three good citizen designations for the year 2010.

The Spirit of Oliver ceremony is an annual event where nominations are sought and judges determine who should be highlighted – paying special tribute to volunteers in the community.

Best Group award – goes to the Oliver Mudslide Fundraising Committee – main event last summer at the Oliver Community Park raised $12000 for those affected by the Testalinda Slide.

Spirit of Oliver Adult Award – Doris Gaines – 19 years of service to the Hospital Auxiliary Thrift store as convenor.

Spirit of Oliver Teen Award – Abhi Sharma – for his on going commitment to youth in the SOSS Link organization and Boys and Girls Club of Oliver.
