“We had a good opening reception Monday night. Although we won’t start the challenge until tomorrow, the first full day of “arting”, each of the 10 artists had a story board to illustrate their plan to Rip off “American Gothic”. That’s the well know painting of the farmer with the pitchfork
and his dour faced wife (or daughter). It’s a double Ripoff this year as each of the ten artists are copying the picture in their own medium, but adding the second dimension of creating it in the style of another artist. There’s a Picasso, Dali, Klimt, Kahlo and six other famous artists doing their thing…….quilting, painting, weaving, collage, woodwork, and other creative stuff.”
Drop in at the Quail’s Nest in Oliver all this week. Enjoy the summer.
