On May 16 of this year, Brittany was helping out with the Half Ironman when her sister phoned her parents and said – Brittany was not feeling well and looked pale and had blue lips. At the hospital, doctors discovered she had an enlarged heart.

Brittany was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Vancouver and diagnosed with non compaction cardiomyopathy.

One attempt to have her leave the hospital failed as she was too weak and has been there every since. Doctors say her liver and kidneys are fine but she needs a better heart.
