1. Town of Oliver, meeting in council, has decided to proceed with a road funding referendum in the amountĀ of $2.5 million dollars. Also to be funded is a sidewalk from 107th to 119th – providing safety to walkers on a very busy thoroughfare. The third project is for funding of a paved walkway east of Okanagan River so that walkers can do a circle route over various bridges and provide some further access for people with challenges.
2. Council agreed to issue a water twinning contract to V-Line Contracting in the amount of $780,000 to provide a domestic water line that would go north of town to Island Rd turnoff and feed into all residences on both sides of the highway. Staff were unsure of how many people would be served but this main trunk installation will ultimately bring potable water to the remainder of users in System #1.
