Wondering if the Town’s Unsightly Premises Bylaw will include home owners that can’t afford to water their lawns? Alot of not-so-green ones around. Dean M.
Good question so we took pictures of: 1. Smart front of home area – low cost 2. Expensive way of doing it with green lawns and thirsty hedges 3. Low cost but not a good image 4. Attractive boulevard treatment.
Water consumption costs money so we recommend: Don’t sprinkle on cool or rainy days, use less water on warmer days but in the middle of the night if possible – 4 to 6am; cut back on the amount of lawn area you really use for sitting, guests, kids. Use landscape cloth and gravel to reduce the amount of “need to be cared for” land.
