Recently, a 40 foot container was stuffed with apple chips from the
gleaners, bundles of clothing prepared by the group, ” For the least of
these”, masses of donated sports equipment and two sets of playground
equipment constructed by the Oliver Rotary Club, all bound for the former
Russian State of Moldova. This is next phase of Rotary’s international project to assist two orphanages. The large black culvert tubes (shown below) will constitute the
slides. With one third of the container packed, all of the beams and planks
were in place, to be followed by bundles of clothing and crates of sports
equipment.
In three months time a group of five men will travel to Moldova to oversee
the reconstruction.
