Town Council Monday approved a tender for roadwork south of Oliver on Highway 97 near Deadman’s Lake. The work to repair dips in the highway that could have been caused by a water leak near the highway in the last six months. Ministry of Highways was insistent that the roadwork get done prior to July so it will be done on a long day in June.
Contract awarded to Mike Johnson Contracting costing about $24000. Council has asked for a report from staff on what fund should pay for it and whether this will mean other projects on the priority list will have to be dropped.
