Mayor Wells very happy Sunday afternoon as he shows the thumbs up at the old Osoyoos Museum on the lake. Wells says he is so happy the people in both the Town and the rural area have spoken and agreed to finance the new Museum home up on Main Street. Wells says he wants to assure the citizens – he is the point man for getting this property on the lake put into use as a public beach as soon as possible.
Much work, he says, must be done to bring this particular piece of land into the park system. The building was constructed as a curling rink by Topping & Son of Oliver in circa 1953. It has had a life as two different functions but it is time to come down. Mayor Wells says he wants to lay to rest any rumours that the land would be sold to the development companies.
