British Columbians will receive their HST voting packages in mid-June. Will a postal strike interfere with that?
Make an informed decision on whether the government should scrap the tax and reinstate the PST or to keep it, recognizing that if the HST sticks around, it will go down two points.
Packages are expected to be mailed out during the week of June 20 and should reach your mailboxes no later than June 24.
Ballots must be completed and returned to Elections B.C. by July 22.
Taxes, whether HST, PST or GST, come from your pocket. This is your opportunity to say how you want it spent.
Mark yes or no to the following question on your ballot: “Are you in favour of extinguishing the HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) and reinstating the PST (Provincial Sales Tax) in conjunction with the GST (Goods and Services Tax)?”
So remember — “no” means keep the HST. “Yes” means get rid of it.
