Balwant Sehkon
31425 – Highway 97
LotsĀ of trucks, backhoes and other equipment in motion – to finish the work necessary to control the creek.
RDOS supplied sand bags to farmers on east side of highway. The creek is just feet away from dwellings but no apparent damage spotted. Backup of water forced highways and government officials to enter the creek to dredge and remove debris. Many small trees and vegetation had to be removed to get access to the creek bed.
The highway is now open completely but warning signs are still in place.
