An inductee into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame & Juno Award winner, SHARI ULRICH has fashioned an extraordinary career for herself since coming north from her native San Rafael, California to Canada in the early 70’s.  She has made an indelible mark as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, television composer, host, and actor.

Her new release FIND OUR WAY is her 7th solo album & her 19th including her work with Pied Pumkin, UHF, and Bentall, Taylor & Ulrich.  For the past 8 years she has been joined by her daughter JULIA GRAFF (now in her 3rd year at McGill) on violin, and more recently on piano, accordion, guitar & mandolin as well.  This mother/daughter collaboration has been a delightful bonus not only for them, but for Shari’s audiences as well. 

Shari’s career began in ‘73 when she joined RICK SCOTT & JOE MOCK in the Pied Pumkin, contributing violin, mandolin, flute, dulcimer, guitar, piano and saxophone. In ‘76 she was lured to the Hometown Band, penning her first song “Feel Good” for their 2nd album.  Its success as a single launched Shari’s solo career when the HTB disbanded in ‘78.  Three major label LP’s and Juno awards & nominations followed.  After a stint in Toronto and LA, Shari chose Vancouver BC as home and in ‘86 settled into her own studio to produce her subsequent 4 solo albums as well as music for film and television.

             1989 marked Shari’s collaboration with BILL HENDERSON and ROY FORBES in UHF, which spawned 2 CD’s & 2 decades of remarkable music.  Pied Pumkin also toured and recorded 3 albums through 2000-2009 including the multi-award winning Pumkids.  In 2009 Shari teamed up with BARNEY BENTALL and TOM TAYLOR, releasing “Live at Cates Hill”.

            Shari is excited to have Julia join her for her summer touring, and the trio will be rounded out with McGill classmate Ted Littlemore on piano and vocals.  Julia and Ted were in piano classes together when they were 5 years old.  Who could have ever imagined…

            Shari was hoping to be able to return to Medici’s with Julia after her solo performance there in February and swears they have the BEST Gelato he’s EVER had!
