My name is Celina Ruhland and I am a grade 11 student at Southern Okanagan Secondary School. 4 of my fellow classmates and I, have planned a 24 hour fast, as a way to raise money and show our support for those living in under-developed countries. We have asked participants to collect money pledges which will then be sent through World Neighbours Canada to help pay for long-term development projects in Burkina Faso, Honduras, and Nepal.

The fast will start on Wednesday, May 11 at 8:30 p.m. and will continue through the school day Thursday, May 12 until 8:30 p.m. We will be hanging out after school, playing games and ending with a potluck dinner in celebration of what we are doing.
We would love to recognize the students and our community for generously donating to this worth-while cause.
