Osoyoos Firemen are in the mop up stage of a fire that erupted mid morning on Main Street. It damaged a number of businesses with two completely destroyed. A huge front hoe was brought in to help brings parts of the two buildings down. The largest of two buildings used to be Rudy’s Home Furnishings. The second was the $ Store. CIBC can be seen on the right in the first picture. Traffic had to be diverted around the business area. Oliver Fire Department was asked to assist but was called away about 1:30pm for its own alarm.

The other business destroyed, besides the Dollar Store, was the Osoyoos Christian Ministry Thrift Store.
Both owned by lovely, and friendly folks. Hope they will open up their businesses again  somewhere in town. – a reader
