Greetings Sunshine Festival Supporters

Thank you very much for your time and talents on April 6th where together we came up with the foundation on which we will build an exciting one-day festival event that will invite residents and visitors to celebrate Oliver’s wonderful diversity through music and art, food, sport and activities for children and families.

The 2011 Oliver Sunshine Festival will take place on Saturday July 16th and will include both the annual Parade (10:30am) as well as hours of entertainment and activities at the Community Park (11:00am-7:00pm).

After this initial meeting it was clear that an “International” theme showcasing several different cultures and nationalities was favourable for both the Parade and the events at the Community Park. I look forward to developing this idea further with your help!

The next planning meeting for the Sunshine Festival will take place on Tuesday April 26th at 5:30pm at the Oliver Community Centre.  It would be a pleasure to have all of you (as well as anyone else you would like to bring along) attend this meeting to provide more input to build on the ideas that were shared earlier this month.
