Mayor Pat Hampson: “Our retired Oliver Ambassador, Simmi Brar was celebrating her 18th Birthday and fund-raising for the BC Ambassador Program Friday at Medici’s on 350th across from Canada Post.

Simmi is our candidate for the 2011 BC Ambassador Program and we are all behind her and wish her success. Linda and I went to Medici’s to meet with Simmi and offer her our support. Nav Gill (last year’s BC Ambassador) was there hosting with Simmi.

I talked to Simmi about her preparations and she has already written her speeches and is now working on a display which will be representative of our community. She is really excited about this new adventure and we can be assured that she will make us all proud.
