The Gleaner’s truck loaded with the “bare bones” of the Quilt show arrived promptly at 7:30 Thursday morning. During the day the Community Hall was pulsing with activity as the Show literally rose from the floor. Aboard moveable scaffolding Shirley Cade and Ruth McLarty suspended the quilts which gradually cover the walls. Meanwhile at floor level, under John Chapman’s supervision, teams of quilters and volunteers erected muslin-draped frames for display smaller items.
By late afternoon the transformation was complete. Show time: 10 to 6 on Friday. and 10 to 4 on Saturday. Thanks go to the Gleaners for their support.
