45-Year-old Osoyoos man missing – last seen in Vernon Area.
On April 6, 2011, at approximately 11 a.m., Richard MCKIVER, left his Osoyoos residence, advising his wife that he was traveling to Vernon for the day to meet with a financial consultant. MCKIVER was expected to return later that evening but did not return that night as expected. MCKIVER has a history of disappearing for short periods of time without telling anyone of his whereabouts but always returns home within a couple of days. When MCKIVER had not returned by April 8, his wife became concerned and contacted the Oliver/Osoyoos RCMP to report him as missing.
MCKIVER is a 45-year-old male, 5’8″ tall, 209 lbs., with brown hair and a full beard (photo attached). The attached photo of MCKIVER was taken in 2004, and he has since grown a long ZZ Top-style beard. He was last seen wearing blue jeans with a black sweater, tan coloured work boots, and a baseball cap. MCKIVER was driving a 1987 Ford Bronco, British Columbia Licence plate 074KCN, which has been painted out with a green and brown camouflage design. MCKIVER visited briefly with family relations in the Vernon area from approximately 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, but has not been seen or heard from since. MCKIVER only had a small quantity of cash on his person when he left and is not believed to have access to any other funds. MCKIVER was in good spirits when he left and is not believed to be suffering from any health-related issues.
Anyone with information as to MCKIVER’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Oliver/Osoyoos RCMP at (250)495-7236.
