Oliver Live presents the Movemberance Rocks! A Night of Music, Fun, and Men’s Health Awareness on Saturday, November 30, 2013. The event will run from 8 pm to 1am, with performances by local Okanagan bands: Intents, JB Thomas, Led Leppard, Kabonge, and Crowd the Joanna. The event will be held at the “ex-Catholic Church” across from the Oliver Post Office (522 Fairview Road, east entrance, adjacent to Medici’s Gelateria). Entrants must be 19 years of age or older to attend the event (two pieces of government-issued ID are required). The Firehall Brewery will be sponsoring a beverage garden. Along with music, there will be games, contests, and prizes. Admittance is $5. It is a “moustache party”, so everyone must try their best to attend with a moustache (ex: real growth, felt marker, costume wear, etc).
Movember Canada is the Canadian arm of a global charity that has stimulated the annual social phenomenon of men growing moustaches in November to raise money and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer. Oliver Live’s Movemberance Rocks! on November 30 is registered as an official fundraiser for Movember Canada. Visit the Oliver Live Movember profile page for more information – mobro.co/oliverlive.
