Town staff have been asked to bring in a 0 % increase 2013 Budget but nothing has been finalized.
At a special open council meeting Monday – Councillors were advised that a general budget increase of 1.5 % was contemplated but staff were told to bring a report on what cuts could be made to bring that figure down by $18,000.
That list will be reviewed January 14.
The council also hopes to reduce the gap between the commercial and residential tax multiplier which could well have some affect on just what the final tax rates will be.
Monday’s meeting was called to give final reading to all water rates and parcel tax bylaws. Those bylaws were reviewed in Victoria.
