It is the week before Christmas and all is not well at the North Pole. Santa has received notice that the Reindeer are on strike. The strangest animals step up to offer their services. Who will pull his sleigh on that very special night? Find out and join in the fun at the Oliver Library’s Annual Christmas Puppet Show on Wednesday, December 12th. And the fun will continue when we meet Olive, the Other Reindeer and everyone will have a chance to make their own unique reindeer ornament.
This Free event for families will start at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th and will include an hour of fun, seasonal stories and songs and some great prizes.
As the countdown to Christmas continues drop into the library and browse through our many seasonal displays , check out some reading for the Christmas holidays and enter our popular Take Five and Win contest. Checkout five books and receive a draw ticket to win one of the three fabulous Christmas baskets donated by the Friends of the Oliver Library. Winners will be drawn at the Annual Christmas Coffee Morning.
The Friends of the Oliver Library’s Christmas Coffee and Caroling Morning will be held on Tuesday, December 18 from 10:00 a.m. to noon in the library’s reading area. Be sure and drop in that morning for Christmas goodies and join in a good old-fashioned carol sing-along.
The Oliver Library will close for the holiday season at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22 and will reopen at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2012. The book return slots will be locked during that time and no library material is due during the closure. Books and material borrowed in December are checked out for longer periods to reflect the closure.
