On November 25th, members of the Osoyoos and Oliver RCMP assisted Midway RCMP with apprehending 4 suspects from an armed robbery which had occurred earlier in Silverton. The suspect vehicle was stopped near Bridesville with great care by Police as firearms and knives had been used in the robbery. The suspects were arrested safely and a handgun and pellet gun were seized from the vehicle. Police gave first aid at the scene to one of the suspects who was found to have a stab wound. All the suspects were transported to Grand Forks RCMP Detachment for further investigation.
On November 26th, Police received a report of graffiti on a shed on Primrose Lane. Police have since identified 3 Osoyoos youth who have been responsible for the graffiti related to markings “Dry” and “MRK”. The parents of the youth have been spoken too and all 3 have been referred to the Restorative Justice Program. As the youth are over the age of 12 any future vandalism incidents will result in their being charged criminally
On November 26th, at 2:30 pm, the Osoyoos RCMP were called to assist BC Ambulance on the 6400 Block of Cottonwood Drive to a vehicle / bicycle collision. A car driven by a 79 year old female from Osoyoos was backing out when a bicycle ridden by a 74 year old man from Osoyoos struck the rear of the car. The male was transported by Ambulance to hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries and was later released.
