Tamara Auger of Quebec City was resting in her camper at Loose Bay just after 10 o’clock Saturday night. She had a candle burning. When she nodded off – that candle must have fallen into something that would burn.
Neighbours woke her up and she escaped before the entire camper exploded into flame. One propane tank was heard to blow as well during the course of the fire that certainly would have woken up the rest of the residents if they were sleeping.
Tamara says she doesn’t have anything left, slept with neighbours last night and will have to seek the help of authorities to stay or return to Quebec.
Members of the Oliver Fire Department reacted quickly to the fire and it was under control within half an hour.
